DitchThePoolGuy is written by a pool owner, not a licensed pool professional, electrician or chemist. Everything here is general information. Always follow product labels, safety data sheets, test-kit directions, and equipment manuals. When they disagree with this site, they win.

Safety

• Never mix pool chemicals with each other. Chlorine plus acid can release toxic gas.
• Store chemicals in their original containers, dry, ventilated, separated from each other, and out of reach of kids and pets.
• Electrical work, gas heaters, leaks, structural damage and pressurized equipment are jobs for licensed professionals.
• Chemical feeders and dosing pumps must only run while water is circulating.
• For contamination incidents, follow the CDC's guidance.

Prices and estimates

Prices change often and may be out of date. Each price shows the date we checked it, and whether we read the seller's page directly ("live") or a search-engine snapshot of it ("snapshot"). Calculator results are estimates based on the published ranges linked on that page, and your costs will differ.

Privacy

If you join the newsletter, we store your email address, the time you signed up, and the page you signed up from. We use it only to send the newsletter, and we never sell it. To be removed, use the unsubscribe link in any issue.

The calculator runs entirely in your browser, and nothing you type into it is sent to us. This site doesn't use advertising trackers.
